Still NO progress.

Still nothing done on any of my model kits as I've been busy with rearranging the boxes of stuff from Move 2008 and getting rid of stuff that needs to be thrown out. Plus with only the floor to do models on, it's been next to impossible to crack out the model kits and find a place to work on them. Now my mother is mentioning that she would like for us to move into her Surrey home so that she has someone that she "somewhat trusts" to stay in there and pay rent. Well...maybe I might actually have a hobby area at some point.

It's just a matter of finding the right desk...and then outfitting it to the use; a couple of drawers for the paints would be nice. I can always spray outdoors and I can wait for a sunny day to do it.

It may be that I administrate the build and end up not being able to finish it due to circumstances. But I'm going to try my best to at least finish one this year.

My son seems to be interested...

in scale modeling. He's been talking about finishing up his Cadillac Escalade. He bought it while he was with his grandparents one weekend. He wants me to help him build it. It's going to take some work as the parts were glued with a glue gun and needed to be cleaned off. Ah...grandma. Thanks!

We did our look-see on January 5, 2010.

We took a look at the interior and sanded down some of the areas that joined the part to the sprue. Then we looked at the main body, the underside of the vehicle and the seats.

We also took a look at my F-117A and I checked out how the metal-etch was supposed to go. We'll probably end up having to get a metal etch cutter so that I can get the metal etch off.

Galen got kind of bored midway through the "look-see" session and built himself a nice little tire tower.

Lots of stuff to do.

Slow Start to 2010

Still trying to get my “motivation” back after that “shocker” of my dad’s passing. Will start on the F-117A in a while, but am going to take it slow. I will moderate the group build, but I don’t know if I’m going to be able to complete all the models in the list of the models I intended to build.

I have to try to get the build of my F-117A off to a good start, which means getting the cockpit paints all ready. I still don't feel like I've gotten the right color paints for the ejection seat and I have to look through photos to see if I can find the right color. If I don't have the right color, then I'm going to have to go and locate a bottle of the color elsewhere.

Evidently rumor has it that Polly Scale is getting phased out by Testors. Which means that there is no more acrylic and with environmentalists trying to dictate what we can or can't use, it's a complete and utter cluster-f***. Maybe that's the reason I'm getting out of model-building and into photography. Who knows.

But anyways, I'm going to do what I can on my stash and try to trim it down by building it.
